David McLaughlan
About
David writes as Francis Gay in the Sunday Post and in the annual The Friendship Book. His greatest claim to writing fame is (and always will be) the six months he spent “being” Dennis The Menace.
He has been a creative writing tutor (in Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre) for the best part of twenty years.
Connection to Glasgow
David’s mum was born and raised in “Toonheed” (a part of Glasgow and a way of life that lives more in memory than in reality) before she ran away to Ayrshire.
