George Colkitto

About

G W Colkitto was born, brought up, and lives in Paisley, Scotland. An former Inspector of Taxes, Chartered Account, and Bookshop owner, he writes both poetry and prose. He has had short stories and poetry in magazines and anthologies including Ink Sweat and Tears, Envoi and Poetry Scotland. Successful in a number of competitions including Pendle War Poetry 2018, he was winner of the Scottish Writers Poetry Competition 2012, Siar Sceal Hanna Greally Poetry Award 2014, Autumn Voices Acrostic Competition 2020. He has read at Aye Write, The Thames River Festival, Scottish Writers Centre, Paisley Museums and Art Galleries and in venues from Newcastle to Nairn, Commissioned poems are on permanent display in Linwood Johnstone, and Erskine Health Centres. He is on the Scottish Book Trust Live Literature Directory and has facilitated workshops for NHS Renfrewshire Network Services, Lochwinnoch Arts Festival and Cinnamon Press.

When signing up to SP SQUARE CIC activities, none are vetted and all are welcome.

SP SQUARE CIC, however, DOES vet thoroughly any and all staff/contractors who deliver activities on its behalf.

By signing up to our activities, individuals agree to refrain from anti-social behaviour whilst engaging as:

a workshop participant; a member of City of Poets; a contributor to OILCAN;

and/or in any other SP SQUARE CIC undertakings/projects.

SP SQUARE CIC understands anti-social behaviour as any behaviour which,

in the view of attendant SP SQUARE CIC staff/contractors,

makes others present feel unsafe and/or uncomfortable.

Such judgement is entirely at the discretion of staff/contractors of SP SQUARE CIC,

who reserve the absolute right to ask people to leave, and/or to seek outside intervention as necessary.
