Morag Smith

About

Morag Smith started writing poetry in about 2018/19. The first published pamphlet was in November 2022, and was the inaugural winner of the Mirrorball/ William Bonar poetry prize. Since then work has been published in zines and publications, including Poetry Ireland reviews, Gutter, Ink Sweat and Years, and various anthologies including Cultural Matters. Morag runs, and is compère at, poetry events such as Paisley Book Festival, has contributed readings as well as winning prizes, often also being shortlisted, for the Bridport Prize among others.

Connection to Glasgow

Morag Smith was born and brought up in working class Glasgow, lived away for many years and returned to Scotland in 1995. Morag now lives in Paisley and works in Glasgow.

a workshop participant; a member of City of Poets; a contributor to OILCAN;

and/or in any other SP SQUARE CIC undertakings/projects.

SP SQUARE CIC understands anti-social behaviour as any behaviour which,

in the view of attendant SP SQUARE CIC staff/contractors,

makes others present feel unsafe and/or uncomfortable.

Such judgement is entirely at the discretion of staff/contractors of SP SQUARE CIC,
