About

Lucy Beth (BA Hons) (MLitt Dist.) is an award-winning emerging performer, theatre-maker and drama lecturer from Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. In 2023, she graduated with Distinction from the University of Glasgow's MLitt Theatre and Performance Practices course after being awarded a PGT Excellence Scholarship by the university. Lucy is represented by Jennifer McKinnon Magee at Leigh Artists Management. As a performer, in 2024, Lucy was nominated for the Artist of the Year Award at the Scottish Emerging Theatre Awards. Lucy has worked on various stage, screen, and audio projects. Notably, she played Blanca in Ten Feet Tall's production of "Guilty" by Rona Munro at Granite Noir Festival. She has also starred in TMM Recruitment’s Christmas Advert, “Scary Tale of New Work,” and as the Fairy Godmother in Talegate Theatre’s production of “Dick Whittington.” Beyond conventional performing, part of Lucy's practice concerns dialect preservation. She speaks Doric and seeks to create and perform works in Doric as a means of continuing to render the dialect present. Lucy was a finalist in I Am Loud's Slam Poetry Competition in Aberdeen in June 2025. In 2024, she won the Best Newcomer Award at The Doric Film Festival. Her spoken-word piece, “Ma Name Is Isabelle,” was commissioned by Eden Court Theatre and Tobar an Dualchais / Kist O Riches for the Scrieve Project as part of the 2024 Under Canvas Festival. Lucy is also a drama lecturer who works in various educational settings, teaching students of different ages and backgrounds. She frequently guest lectures at colleges, notably Lossie Entertainment Academy. Lucy previously lectured at the North East Scotland College where she was nominated for the Lecturer of the Year Award. Lucy also leads youth theatre classes and offers private tuition. Additionally, she serves as the resident drama tutor at The Gaitherin. Lucy has experience teaching in additional support needs, enhanced provision, and nurture settings. She has also taught at the International British Theatre School and led drama classes to home-educated young people. Here is a review of one of Lucy Beth's performances: "Lucy's wonderfully expressive performance goes beyond words...Lucy smoothly shifted between moments of love, anger, and humour without ever losing rhythm. The audience laughed warmly, listened attentively, and rewarded the performance with a well-deserved standing ovation". - Review of Ma Name Is Isabelle in Post Aberdeen.
