About
Ross McFarlane is a Glaswegian poet, performer, and creative producer – working primarily in long-form narrative poetry with a focus on engaging and entertaining performance.
Ross is a host of many nights and has supported internationally touring creatives across poetry and music including Shane Koyzcan, Sabrian Benaim, Rudy Fransisco, Rae Spoon and Petrol Girls. Ross is a co-founder of In The Works spoken word theatre company, where he wrote on and performed in productions including 'The 900 Club' and 'Make/Shift', both of which he toured around the UK & Ireland in 2018-20.
He was also a head writer and producer on poetry-based queer horror audio drama 'Folxlore' – winner of 3 x AudioVerse Awards including 'Best New Storytelling Production' and #38 on The Atlantic's 'Best Podcasts of 2020'.
Ross' debut pamphlet, 'Life Goals of the Millennials: or The Commune Manifesto' was published by Burning Eye Books in 2022, and in 2024, he brought a spoken word theatre adaptation of the book to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Ross is also a script editor with credits on multi-award winning audio drama 'Camlann' and 'Land's End: A Shepherd's Tale'.
